MIT 1st Original Scoring Competition

To cultivate interdisciplinary talent in music and image, and to encourage students in the MIT program to integrate music composition with visual arts, this competition aims to inspire innovative thinking through professional knowledge. Through the integration of the "International Animation Scoring and Production" course, students will gain hands-on experience in top-tier soundtrack production processes under the guidance of international professors and with professional orchestral recordings, broadening their global perspective and enhancing their international competitiveness while promoting the fusion of music and image.

📅 Important Dates:

  • Registration and submission deadline: From now until Friday, September 27, 2024, 23:59.

  • Announcement of award winners: Monday, October 21, 2024

 

🌟 Awards:

Best Original Music Score Award

  • Gold Award (First Place): 1 recipient, a certificate, masterclass instruction from an international professor in recording and conducting, and a live recording of the winning work by a chamber orchestra.

  • Silver Award (Second Place): 1 recipient, a certificate, masterclass instruction from an international professor in recording and conducting, and a live recording of the winning work by a chamber orchestra.

  • Bronze Award (Third Place): 1 recipient, a certificate, masterclass instruction from an international professor in recording and conducting, and a live recording of the winning work by a chamber orchestra.

 

Honorable Mentions:

  • Multiple recipients (including Best Orchestration Award, Best Score Notation Award, etc.): A certificate, the opportunity to observe international professor’s recording and conducting instruction, and to watch the live recording process of the winning works by a chamber orchestra.

 

🏫 Eligibility:
Limited to students enrolled in the MIT program for the first semester of the 113th academic year.
